The first step is for you to pick up the phone and call our office. We will answer you call. When you call, you will speak to an actual licensed private investigator in Oxnard, Ca. who will be able to answer your questions. With most cases, our clients will purchase a block of surveillance or general investigation hours. Usually the client will purchase between 20 – 25 hours of surveillance. That may seem like a long time, however, real private detective work is not like what people see on TV. A block of 20 – 25 hrs spread out over the course of 1 – 2 weeks is a relatively small snap shot of the subject’s life. Those hours are used in increments (usually 4 – 5 hr. increments) over the course of 1 – 2 weeks. Over the 20 years that we have been conducting private investigation work in Oxnard, Ca. we have found that we are more effective when we apply the surveillance hours in brief increments over a longer period of time. Having said that, we occasionally work cases that require us to spend 2 consequative 12 hr days of surveillance. Our approach is flexible and we allow our clients to control the surveillance schedule. At Western Investigations, our rates are on the low end of the spectrum above. We only charge .25 cents per mile which
basically covers the investigators fuel. If our client pays for a “block” of hours, we wave the 4 hour daily minimum fee. Travel time is compensable at our office, however, we are local and travel time is typically very minimal for Oxnard, Ca. investigations. We do not charge for video to a dvd, no charge for photos emailed to our clients. We do not charge for an “informal report”, however, if the client request a formal investigations report on our letter head with photos inserting into the body of the report, we charge a 1 hr. fee.
